Position Summary

The role of HR is to be an integral partner providing strategic and technical human resources or “people” solutions to the business. Our HR Team has an immediate need for a Senior Compensation Analyst to support our business. This position will report to the VP of HR and will be located in our Spokane, Washington, Portland, Oregon or Cincinnati, Ohio offices.

In this newly created role, our Analyst will help create a performance based culture through the
alignment of our total rewards programs to our compensation philosophy.

Role Description & Brief Description of Responsibilities

As our Senior Compensation Analyst, you will consult with the business and our HR Team to align our
Total Rewards Programs with our Compensation Philosophy. This will include the design, development
and implementation of salary guidelines and market structures. You will conduct market salary surveys;
collect and analyze market data; maintain and update position descriptions; determine competitive
position of salary ranges; and develop/present recommendations to maintain internal and external
equity in pay plans.

As our Expert, you will be responsible for the evaluation of job content and will formulate
recommendations on grade, title, pay and FLSA exemption status based on analysis of duties, internal
equity and market competitiveness. You will administer various compensation programs including
annual salary planning processes and incentive plan administration; as well as, evaluating market and
economic trends to recommend adjustments to salary ranges, hiring rates, geographic differentials,
merit percentages and individual rates. Additionally, you will analyze compensation surveys as well as
other available competitor information to ensure competitive market based and industry-specific
compensation.

As our Senior Compensation Analyst, you will research best practices and recommend plan and program revisions that are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and our compensation philosophy. You will develop techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data to senior management and accurately interpret, counsel, communicate, and educate managers and staff on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretations, job evaluations, and job descriptions.

You will create program administration processes and tools and identify appropriate course of actions
necessary to ensure timely delivery of products. You will prepare regular and ad-hoc reports to support compensation and compensation-related analysis and to assess the effectiveness of compensation programs.
 
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Our ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting or
relevant field of study and five (5) years of professional level compensation experience. Will have, or be working toward, Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) status.

Our candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively present options and recommendations to
management. Will demonstrate thorough knowledge of compensation theory and practice and
knowledge of state and federal compensation laws and regulations.

Our preferred candidate will have strong proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivot tables, formula
development, etc.) and other HRIS applications plus demonstrated analytical ability. Additionally, our
expert will be able to develop and effectively communicate compensation recommendations to a
diverse, varied audience.
